Afghan Heroes
With over 210 soldiers killed in Afghanistan and MoD figures showing that in the month of July 2009 alone there were 94 injuries associated with the war in Afghanistan, the time is right for a charity dedicated to the welfare of those directly involved in the conflict.
The mother of a soldier who died in an explosion in Afghanistan in July had the idea to set up a charity to provide support for those directly involved in the conflict.
Afghan Heroes has been launched by a group of mothers with the aim of helping our service personnel directly on the front line; the families of those who have fallen and our returning service personnel who have witnessed these horrific losses of their fellow comrades.
Afghan Heroes is independent of other charities. It deals specifically with members of the British forces and their families that have been affected by the military operations in Afghanistan now and into the future. The intention is to operate until a minimum of five-years from the cessation of our military presence in Afghan
Afghan Heroes will deliver support through:
The “thank the troops” initiative.
The provision of home comforts to those serving in Afghanistan.
Motivational and morale boosting support directly to our forces on the front line via your letters and news letters.
A support network for the families of the fallen, creating an open environment where families can give support to each other.

Honour Our Troops
Honour Our Troops Objectives:
To give relief and support to serving personnel of the UK Armed Forces, and their dependants in times of hardship, sickness, bereavement and in war time. To raise troop morale, to facilitate events, in particular, live music events and encourage community fundraising whereby grants and donations can be made to benefit charities with similar aims.
Honour our Troops (HOT) is a charity, comprising a dedicated team of volunteers committed to giving knowledge, expertise, time and effort in realising our vision - Staging a "National Live" concert in honour and support of our British Armed Forces.

Kart Force
A truly inspirational event with a goal of providing injured troops with memorable, adrenalin packed experiences. Unlike other similar events, which have a primary aim of raising funds, KartForce focuses on providing the injured troops themselves with the opportunity of enjoying an action packed two days of racing and socialising, something they never thought they could do again.
In parallel to this, KartForce also has an agenda to raise funds, for organisations that support injured British forces personnel; and provide a lasting legacy whereby the event concept and infrastructure carries forward to provide similar activities at kart circuits around the UK.

To honour the UK's Service personnel, past, present and future.
The first National Armed Forces Day was held on 27 June 2009; the Historic Dockyard Chatham was selected to host the main event which was complemented by hundreds of smaller events in towns and cities across the UK.

Objectives of the Fund
The next ten years promise to make extraordinary demands on the Regiment, serving Grenadiers, their partners and families and particularly those members of the Regiment who have left through disability or work- related illness. The Colonel's Fund Grenadier Guards is designed to support, alleviate and improve the prospects of all those Grenadiers subsequently in need. Specifically it will enable the Regiment to:
support the families of those killed in action by promptly responding to problems of bereavement and hardship.
support those wounded or injured on operations, particularly those who have had to leave the Army; to assist in finding them new employment and to help them become active family and community members.
support the families of those seriously wounded or injured in prolonged recovery situations. Trustees will have wide discretion to use the fund to enhance the welfare of Grenadiers on operations and that of their families at home. Furthermore, they will be able to use capital as well as income if they deem it appropriate.

They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes."

It is only fitting that such an 'Elite' Regiment have a website that is 'Second to None', dedicated to everything Coldstream . . . . and much, much more! (*YES, we can back up this claim!)

SEAN CLEE PHOTOGRAPHER
Sean originally hails from Stoke-On-Trent and has been in the Royal Navy for 17 years, he has been a professional photographer with the Royal Navy since 2001. His experience is very varied from photographing Her Majesty the Queen on official duties, Public Relation shoots involving Prime Ministers and portraits of Admirals. However Sean got most notoriety from his images of close quarter combat during his time with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan and Iraq which featured heavily in national newspapers such as The Times, The Guardian and The Telegraph. These images won him the title of Royal Navy Photographer of the Year 2007 & 2008.
Outside his Navy photographic commitments Sean’s main inspirations come from his love of the great outdoors.
Most recently Sean was invited to photograph the prestigious Q Music Awards in London.
