Berti Bear WIP
This is a work in progress of a painting I am doing of Bertie the Grenadier Bear. I will be producing limited edition prints when it is finished and will be donating a percentage per print sold to The Colonels Fund.

This is the initial sketch. Hope to be adding some paint tomorrow.

Stage 2 of the painting.Started blocking in some colours and bits of detail.The detail will be progressive as I work on the painting.
Putting in a bit more detail now. I have worked a bit more on the face and hands fur, the tunic and belt. Just starting to work on the Grenadier badge.Still not sure about the background I have a few ideas to link with Afghanistan.

Concentrating on the Grenadier badge now. Still a lot to do on this until I can move onto the background. Hope to get a bit more done soon.
I have started on the background now. Still needs blending a bit more to get rid of brushstrokes. Then I will be adding silhouettes of a Chinook,maybe an Apache and a couple of soldiers. This will give a link to Afghanistan.
I have added the silhouettes to the background now. I think they give the painting a good link to Afghanistan. I just need to tidy up the badge now so that the lettering has a shiny gold look and put a shine on his boots.Then Bertie the Grenadier Guard will be finished.
